Mamie, Remnants of a life well lived...

JACQUELINE DEVINE, PERSONAL HISTORIAN, VIDEOGRAPHER AND GRAPHIC ARTIST HAS RELEASED FOR GLOBAL PUBLICATION, MAMIE, REMNANTS OF A LIVE WELL LIVED.

(December 1, 2015 – Houston, Texas) Jacqueline Devine has written a sweeping memoir and personal history of stalwart Midwestern Mamie Edith Henson McLain. Published in print and digital formats, it is available through Blurb Worldwide.

Hailed as an eloquent and sensitive voice of from the past, Ms. Devine recounted Mamie’s formative years from the turn of the 20th Century through 1980.

“In this memoir, I wrote about my grandmother, her generation, and her determination to remain true to her personal ideals. By interviewing as many surviving family members as possible, I attempted to clearly document the life of a child born to German immigrant in the late 1800’s, her trials putting a husband through college and raising children during the depression and her struggle to become a recognized community leader and successful business owner when women were just beginning to claim their independence during the onset of World War II.”

While this story is a highly personal replete with original family photos and oral interviews, Ms. Devine hopes that it resonates with people of all ages interested in the historical backdrop of life during the first half of the 20th Century and the struggle to succeed as they earned their rightful place in society.
